Contributing to a nation with two-thirds of the population being overweight or obese.

Not only do our waistlines suffer, our health suffers as a result.

From diabetes to cancer, dozens of obesity-related illnesses lead to nearly $150 billion in annual medical costs.

Although there are many contributing factors to obesity, geographical location has become an increasing influencer.

The highest concentration of obese adults is in rural south. Mississippi leads the way while in contrast, the least overweight state is Colorado.

But it's not just as simple as moving to a different state. No matter where you live, diet, physical activity, environment and health conditions all contribute to this explosive public health crisis.
